The Lobster font took a different approach. The new OpenType format gives us the possibility to have multiple versions of each letter, and that's exactly what we are doing: Instead of compromising the design of our letters to force connections, we do what lettering artist do. We draw many versions of each letter and a lot of different letter-pairs (aka "ligatures") so we always use the best possible variation of each letter depending of the context of the letter inside each word. All this happens automatically in any browser that supports ligatures.

Lobster Two has become known as a retro font and is mostly used for this style purpose. When people want a groovy throwback font Lobster Two is the go to. Many people feel that it has become a generic font because of this over use. However, Lobster Two is also used as a sporty font or baseball font more specifically. Other uses for the font are for an elegant cursive feel. Lobster Two is best used when paired with a simple sans serif font, in the example of this website I am using another google font called 'Open Sans'.
